Poker Weekend

I played alot of poker this weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon)

Overall i ended up down about 50 BB's.
Friday= - 115 BB
Sat= -20BB
Sun= +10BB
Mon= +76BB

I wont go over any hands, because there were not too many interesting hands to speak of all weekend.

I lost a pot with AK vs AA when i was very short (i got all the money in preflop, i don't mind my play). Flop was K high but i didn't catch up.

I lost with K 10, on a K 10 4 9 3 rainbow board. I probably should have folded to the river value bet, but it was borderline.

I won a pot with 33 on a J33 6 4 board. Villain said they mucked a full house but i don't believe them for a second.

Best Quotes from the weekend
"You wanna go outside" this was a player challenging me to a fight
"shut up and take your pot" I had to tell a couple of players this over the weekend

"I have two pairs" This was a guy who showed quads in an Omaha 8 game at taj mahal
"i don't appreciate that smart ass" from the 80 yr old lady who lost against the quads

"your getting hit with the deck" me talking to my friend after he jumped to a quick +240BB's
"I should have got up from table" same friend 10 hrs later with only 30BB's of profit

BBB (Bad Beat Barn)

No, I didn't take any bad beats, but a few others did. It hurts really bad when you take a bad beat, however sometimes it hurts even more watching a friend at the table take one. Ok, here is the hand with the gross ending.
I will pick up the hand after the turn card, what happened before it is a non-factor to the hand.
Board shows (As 5h 7c Kh)
The Pot is roughly only about 40BB's, three way pot, first two players check and player with position goes all in. All in player had both player 1 and 2 covered easily. Player 1 goes into tank and stares at All In player for about 3 minutes and announces call (he had about 90 BB's). Player 2 folds and showdown time. Player 1 has (AK), Aggressor has (4 6) for the dry open ender. I ask if they want to run it and Player 1 denies it and i pull a 3!
Yuck, Gross, Sick, Player 1 is devastated and is gonna have a tough time going to sleep (i know i would). Sometimes players cant miss there draws and tonight was that night for the aggressor, winning over 550 BB's.
My night was pretty uneventful. I caught one set early in the night and raised up the pot on the flop and lost both players. On another hand i found QQ vs the shortstacked KK and got no help from a lady. There was one hand that i played worth mentioning, here it is:
I open the pot for 8 BB's in EP with (JJ) , i get about 4 callers until UTG min raises to 16 BB's. This player was pretty inexperienced so i had to give him credit for a hand bigger than mine, i just called for set value and so does the rest of the table. Pot is a juicy 75 BB's going to the flop. (8s 6s 2h). UTG minraiser makes it 25BB to go sounding very confident, i fold JJ pretty quick considering the strength of my hand. He (UTG) gets one caller. Turn is (Qd). UTG goes all -in and other player tanks and folds. UTG shows AA after i tell him to show aces.

Felted, but not out

I had to dig last night after being felted for the first time in a few weeks. I took roughly two big hands to get to that point. But, in a cash game you gotta dig to get back so i did and eked out a nice little profit by chopping for a while and then one big hand win. here they are

hand 1 pre dig

Hero (5d 6d) dealt in bb. The flop is taken 4 ways (Kd 7d 8c). Great flop for me i believe i just call a 2/3 pot bet (heads up now). Turn (8d) I know lead out 1/2 pot and get called. River is a black 9 and i lead again for half pot and i get raised to triple that bet. I say out loud "u probably have 8 9" i called and was shown 89.

hand 2 pre dig

Dealt (8c 8s) I call a preflop raise from LAG Villain on the button. Flop (Ks, 9s, 5s). Villain c bets and i just call because of his reputation for bluffing. Turn is (7d) . Villain c bets again and i get the feeling he has no spade so i call because i picked up another 4 outs and i am steaming from hand 1 pre dig. River is a red 2 or 3. Villain bets small again and at this point pot is too big for me to fold, he shows (Ac Kc). Goodbye first buy in.
Post dig
I settled in and started to play well. I chopped for a while and then i started to get some big hands for a while. Here is the big hand of the night that i might have played too hard.
Hero (As Ah) re raise lag villain to 8bb after he makes it 3, Hero is called in two spots. (one player is basically all in) Flop (Qh Ad 9c). Hero bets out a little less than 1/2 pot and is raised to triple that amount by villain Lag. Hero just calls hoping to get disguise strength. Turn is (10s) now putting up a possible straight and a gutshot for any Jack or King. Hero doesn't want a K or J to roll off and kill his hand so he bets 2/3 pot, villain mucks after a min saying he folded an Ace. Shortstack all in had qq for set over set. If i knew that villain in this hand had an ace i would have min raised back on flop, but its easy to say now. I was happy to win this hand to catapult my self back into the green for the night.

Donkey Poker and Slimy Poker

Donkey Poker - The table last night was great according to any scale you use. However, anytime one player decides to raise, bet and sometimes call until the river without the looking at their cards if certainly changes the way you play. At the end of the night I never really got the chance to do any damage.

Slimy Poker - Everybody knows the rules of poker but everybody does not follow them. Last night two people still in the hand made some type of whisper agreement before the flop after another player raised. After the hand some type of deal (money) was exchanged. It was slimy as hell. I usually speak up and stop this before it gets started, but i cant always be the (poker ruler) guy at the table speaking up. Everybody expects the game to be played fair but you have to speak up if u see something being done that could hurt you or somebody else.

Big hand of night

There was only one hand for me last night. I was down to half my original buy in and looking to double up. I limp with 33 MP and luckily take the flop 5 or 6 ways. Flop (K 3 2) rainbow. Everybody checks to player on my right (Super Rock) who bets pot, i call somewhat quick trying to disguise my strength. Everybody else folds. Before the turn comes out player on my right bets 2/3 pot which he never does. Turn is (10) putting out some type of backdoor flush draw. I count my chips and i only have about 3.5 times that bet. I decide to min-raise and commit myself to hand. I get put all in for the small amount extra. He has AA and is drawing to the old 2 outer. River is 8 and i breathe and double up.

The back story on this hand is that the same guy almost busted me with AA on a K 5 3 board last week when i had AK. I really beat myself up saying that this player should never crack me and i really made a bad call there last week.

First game of month, first post of blog

Home Game in a Barn

I show up about ten minutes late and fill out the table to ten. Cards are in the air, (but barely) i count 4 hands played in the first 15 minutes i was there. Luckily game picked up a little halfway through the night. Game was comprised of about 3 or 4 Lags and 5 or 6 Rocks. Not the greatest table, not the worst. (asi asi)

Normally i will have a few big hands to talk about, however i dont think i made a bet larger than 15 bb's all night. At the end of the night i was very surprised by how many chips i had accumulated by winning smallish pots and 3 medium pots.

3 medium pots i will post today

1. Hero limps with 55, flop is 5 10 2 with two spades. I bet 2/3 pot and get called by superrock.
Turn is J no spade. Villian checks i bet only about half pot and get called again. River was 2 no spade (not the best card vs superrock but after he checks i put out a small value bet and get called) He probably had K 10 or A 10 im guessing.

2. Hero limps A7 suited, flop is A74 rainbow. Villain (another rock) bets out 15, i decide to build and min raise to 30 and get called. Turn was a 5 i think which doesnt scare me, however i let it go check check believing Villain has AK or AQ. River was 3 putting out a one liner to straight. After Villain checks again I put out another value bet knowing he is probably incapable of pulling the old check raise on river. I get called and was shown A4 for top and bottom. no good sir

3. Last round of night i get QK off in BB a straddled pot. I just limp and it goes to flop 3 ways, (Q 10 7 rainbow) I bet pot and get called by one (LAG). Turn is a safe 5 and i bet 2/3 pot and get called again. (i am gonna try to showdown this hand now) river is a 3 and i check waiting for showdown, but villain bets out 2/3 of pot and puts me to the test. I make the HERO CALL after a minute or two and was shown J 9 for a busted open ender. Lately i have been making the correct decisions on these pots and hopefully ill continue to sniff them out.

I throw a few bucks to host and leave pretty happy knowing i start the month off great. It is very rare that you could post a win like this in poker without a lot of sweat.
